I also really really liked the Fenty hydrating foundation but it separated much quicker than the regular formula (texture + T-zone) so I returned it.īest: NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation. Honourable Mention? Bobbi Brown Skin Stick in Cool Almond because it's probably the closest to my skin tone (most of my face anyway) and I reach for it when I want something fast. For some reason, Mac foundations are too peach, even the darker shades. Historically, Nars Sheer Glow and Mac (I think the Studio Fix but I know I also tried the Waterweight), were "the worst" because the shades just weren't quite right (too light and in the case of Mac, too peach!!) and that's why I stopped using them years ago. When Fenty launched, I bought 390 then switched to 385 when the half shades were introduced.

I have issues with texture and find that the "too warm" foundations emphasize this along with fine lines. Worst: Strangely, nothing really stands out overwhelmingly BUT what I'm noticing is that when foundations are (mostly) the right shade but wrong undertones (too warm/too red), they look pretty bad on me. I wore this on vacation a few years ago and it looked amazing (keep in mind I would have been a bit darker from the neck down so the difference wasn't as jarring). We had one of these threads like 7 years ago so here's another one.īest: Too Faced Born This Way in Mahogany which is technically the wrong shade but this was before Jackie Aina helped them expand the shade range.
